A Layout with Samantha Mann

Hello!
Happy Sunday!
Samantha here and today I'm sharing a layout inspired by the gorgeous July Mood Board!

Seriously, love that mood board! I don't know what it is! Usually I'm not drawn to purple (HA!! Now there's an understatement!), but I can't resist Amanda's magic with mood boards!

So anyway, here's my layout!

So fun, right?!
My bestie and I recently went to a Dirty Heads concert (Our favorite!! Check out their awesome new summer single! You'll be singing it with us! Ha!) and it was the BEST TIME EVER!

Ok, so I started by creating the watercolored background with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to create the background! That was seriously, the best part! So fun!

I used lots of 6x6 paper scraps that I had on my desk in mostly gray colored papers! Then I used some of the salmon-y colors from the Crate Paper Little You Girl Ephemera pack! Love those peeks of pink! I used what is possibly my favorite Thickers ever for the title! They're Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection. so fun! I also used a bunch of puffy star stickers from Bella Blvd and the Shimelle Little by Little collection!

So that's what I have for you!
Did you make you smile, or get you inspired to play along with the Mood Board? Can't wait to see what you make!
~Samantha

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each!

I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer.  I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks.  I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies for the girl and Magical Dragons for the boy.  I colored m…

Painting backwards....

Hello, hello!  Norine here from The Velvet Lemon blog.  It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink!
Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards.
What do I mean, you wonder?  Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color.
For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks.  You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color.

I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Inks for this project, but any water based inks will work the same.  It&#…

Open DT Call for Spring/early Summer Term!

Happy Spring, everyone! The weather here is... confused. LOL Thursday we had 50 degrees, Saturday we had 10 inches of snow and today it was 50 again. We just celebrated my son's 21st birthday on Thursday as many of you know from taking advantage of the celebration sale! Thanks for that. I spent all day packing and shipping orders during the day and then went out for dinner (and his first legal beer) when he got out of work that night. I honestly can't believe he's TWENTY-ONE, such a milestone and it's weird having a man child. HA! Yesterday, we spent the snow day in pjs and doing nothing which was a welcomed change. Today, my husband took our younger son skiing and my daughter and I had a girls' day which was nice. We went out to breakfast, did a little shopping and saw Beauty & the Beast. That's the lowdown over my way. I hope you've all been enjoying the weather, your families, crafting, work or whatever makes you HAPPY! :)
With the change of seasons a…
