Happy Birthday Card!

Hello!
Samantha here and today I'm sharing an adorable little birthday card with you on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! I used the SUPER AWESOME Hey Girl stamp set from Waffle Flower! EEEEEEK! Those sloths really are SOOOO adorable!!!!

See? Adorable, am I right?! I stamped and colored the flower, sloth and balloon images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out!
However, there are also coordinating dies, as well that would make it even easier!

The background of the card was created by doing some watercoloring with the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink pad! Once it was dry, I added some white polka dots with my white gel pen
The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder, onto some black cardstock and then I trimmed it into a banner shape!

The card was finished off with a thick layer of Glossy Accents over the balloon and the flowers! Love it!
Hope this cheered up your day!

Happy Halloween!

Good morning, crafty friends! It's Cassie from Creatively Cass here, and I'm back for a guest post today. I'm sharing a Halloween card that I made for today's post because, in my mind, it's never too early to start thinking about Halloween! Please tell me I'm not the only one! :)

I'm mixing a bunch of Lawn Fawn products today, to create this cute little trick-or-treating scene. I think part of my love for Halloween card making is making those beautiful night skies with huge full moons! They are sooo fun. I combined the Party Animals, Booyah, and the Big Scripty Words stamp sets to create a cute little characters and sentiment. The Puffy Cloud Borders and Stitched Hillside Borders set the perfect scene for the littler trick-or-treaters.
I used Distress Oxide to color my background and die cut pieces. I always love a good splattered background, but there is something super awesome about a Halloween scene with all that mess.

I even had time to make a video for…

MFT Otterly Love You + Distress Ink Blending

Hey folks!

It's been ages since I've been here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog! I am so happy to be stopping by to share another card with you!

Show of hands of who thinks otters are the cutest thing ever! I've been hoarding the My Favorite Things Otterly Love You Stamp Set for awhile, but thought it was time to show it some love.

To start my card, I cut a a nice of white cardstock down to 5"x5". Then using my MISTI Stamping Tool, I stamped all of my images with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I used the otters, rocks and fish from the Otterly Love You Stamp Set. The turtle and the seaweed are from My Favorite Things Mermazing Stamp Set.

I didn't do a lot of masking in terms of stamping all of the images, I needed masks for all of them anyway, because I wanted to do some ink blending on the bottom for the "lake bed" and the top to make this guys look like they are in water.

Using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool, I ink blended Tim…

Galaxy Background Shaker!

Hi all!  Welcome back!  Today marks my official last post for this term for the Butterfly Reflection Ink DT!  It went SO FAST!  4 months flew by, I'll tell ya!  But, I am so happy for the opportunity to design for Vanessa's shop and make some new friends too!

I wanted to go out with a "bang" and create a galaxy background, but step it up and make a shaker card from it as well!

I love creating galaxy backgrounds, and they really have grown in popularity!  I have created them in the past using distress inks, and my ink blending tool, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone, and create one using my Gansai Tambi watercolor set.  These are high quality watercolors, so much so, they intimidate me because they are so pigmented!  But, I still went for it!  You can't tell from the photo, but I added lots of color..red, orange, blue and yellow, and really all that is coming through is the yellow, but that is alright as it turned out looking like a realistic galaxy s…

I'm Here For You

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly, and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple card for you today featuring products from a couple popular companies!

Cards that can be given to boys or men are a bit more difficult for me to make, and I often shy away from them. But...every now and then I find that I need one! I have to relook at my supplies and make them work for the guys too.

I started by stamping and copic coloring the fun bunny and rug from Honey Bee Design's Blah Bunny Stamp Set. I also stamped the white surrender flag and added some White Blizzard Nuvo Drops. I added them to a mustard card base that was stamped with a sentiment from Honey Bee Design's Prayers Stamp Set.

The card was finished with a large sentiment from Honey Bee Design's Blah Blah Blah Stamp Set. For added interest, I added some design elements with a strip of washi tape from Little B and a perpendicular birch tree from My Favorite Things Birch Tree Die…

Thank You, Really.

Hey there, crafty friends!

I definitely have mixed feelings about today's post. I'm excited to be bringing you another card, but it's my last post as a design team member for Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I've really enjoyed my time on the design team, and I'm really grateful to Vanessa to give me the chance! So this card is dedicated to her!

I started out by using the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers stamp set to stamp out some floral images on some plain white cardstock using my favorite black ink. I then stamped in the filler images using peach and green Hero Arts dye inks.

After I had covered the entire card panel with the floral images, I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges die to cut a decorative edge across the panel. I also used the same peach ink and swiped it across a scrap piece of cardstock and used the same die to cut an additional color-coordinated piece to layer underneath the floral piece.

I adhered the floral and coordinating p…

Hello

Hello, friends! Crystal here with my official last post as part of the Butterfly Reflections design team member. So I figured it ever ironic to make a card saying Hello since it's never really a "goodbye" but a "see you later".

To make this card, I began by masking each side of my card panel, then stamping the floral background using Honey Bee Stamps Zen BouquetinAltenew Deep Iris Crisp Ink.

Next, attached silver thread to the "hello" from Winnie & Walter. This was attached to the card base using foam adhesive and topped off withPretty Pink Posh silver confetti.

I really like how the sentiment does not takeaway from the beautiful background stamp.

I hope my tenure here has been a source of inspiration. I absolutely loved being part of this great team and working alongside Vanessa.

Thanks again for a fantastic term, Cheers!

Crystal

You're FAB-BOO-LOUS!!

Hello BRI Friends It´s me Waleska... Again.... I made a mistake yesterday posting my last blog post one day early, so today is officially my second last post as a DT member of  Butterfly Reflections Ink... sorry!!   Many of you might not know that I love Halloween but what can I say...(The candy, the costumes, the fun Parties, all the spooky cards!!!) So for my last card I created a cute Halloween card with the AWESOME MFT Fab-BOO-lous Friends Stamp Set (they could totally be the cutest ghosts ever!!

CARD DETAILS:
I started with a A2 size black card base, I cut the half part of the card front so I could have all the ghosts in the front and a cute open background.  I then, stamped all the images with  Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed them with Super Fine Clear Embossing Powder.  I colored all the images with markers and stamped the sentiment with Zing Metallic Silver Embossing Powder.

For the background I used Oxide ink Wilted Violet and sprayed it with water mixed with Conf…

You are Different...

Hello BRI Friends, Waleska from craftinglovew today, with my official last post as a DT member for Butterfly Reflections Ink....I have to say I enjoyed every single minute of it... Thank you for stopping by and share with me this cardmaking journey I love so much. For my last card I wanted to share one of my favorite sentiments that reminds me that everyone is different, and we need to love and accept everyone.

CARD DETAILS:
For this card I used the Unicorn Wishes Reverse Confetti stamp set and the Avery Elle Star Frame Elle-ments, (hurry because there is a limited quantity of this two at the shop).  I started by stamping the unicorn and star with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and Super Fine Clear Embossing Powder.  I also stamped some parts of the unicorn in Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper, cut and glue those parts to give the plaid details to the unicorn and star.

For the background I used Distress Ink Shaded Lilac blended at the top and bottom of the card, I die cut the Aver…

Blue Birthday Greetings

Hi there! I'm back this week with a super sparkly, mixed media birthday card.

Remember last week when I used a water color panel? This is the other water color panel I created, it came out with lots more blue/green/yellow colors. And the black panel? It was created MONTHS ago (#truth) using a Hero Arts stencil and some matte embossing paste which I colored black - just mixed the embossing paste with some black ink.

I stamped and embossed the flowers from WPlus9 Kind Soul onto the water color panel and then trimmed by hand. It was a bit too big for my panel, so I cut it down and mounted a smaller portion at the bottom to kind of 'wrap around' the happy birthday sentiment. The happy was cut with a Heidi Swapp die, the 'birthday' was black embossed on a white strip of paper. I threaded the paper through the first 'p' and the 'y' of the word happy. Before cutting apart the flowers, I spritzed them heavily with some shimmer mist - lots of sparkle! Finish…

Boss Babe

Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 and I'm glad you're here.
Today is my last post (insert sad face here) as part of the Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team.  I have had such a wonderful time as part of this fabulously talented Design Team and hate to see it end. I couldn't let my term end without a card for the wonderful lady behind the scenes.  Vanessa, you have been awesome and I appreciate all you do!  From your lightning fast shipping to your kind-hearted generosity, you're the best....

This bright, happy card was so much fun to make! I started with a white background cut from the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Dies by My Favorite Things.  I inked up my background with some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and the Cloud Stencil from MFT.  After inking up the clouds, I cut a window in my background with the My Favorite Things die, Square Peek-a-Boo Window.

Next, I stamped and colored a few of these whimsical flowers from the MFT sta…

You're SPEC-tacular!

Welcome back friends!  Kari with you once more to share this card featuring a new set from The Greeting Farm called You're Spectacular!  This set makes me happy as I, myself am a glasses wearer and what is so fun about this set is that there is different styles of glasses.

So, I took advantage of this, and used three of the different styles of glasses and created a background with it.  I first prepped my white card panel with my powder tool and I wanted to emboss these images with white embossing powder.  I randomly stamped out the glasses all over the panel, and then coated them with the embossing powder, and then used my heat tool to set the powder.  Then, I chose three colors of Distress Oxide inks to do the emboss resist technique.  I used Twisted CitronSalty Ocean and Wilted Violet.  I absolutely love these colors together!!  So YUMMY!!  And, these inks blend so effortlessly!

Once I was completely done with the inking, I used my Distress Sprayer water bottle and spritzed…

Happy Hippos!

Happy Sunday crafty friends! So nice to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink. blog with you for today :)
My project today features MFT products that can be all be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink. shop!

But I mean, look at those hippos! I just fell in love with them! This is the Happy Hippos stamp set by MFT colored with my Copic Sketch markers - I wanted a really whimsical card and what better than flying Hippos, Lol. For the background "colored" clouds I used the fantastic Cloud Stencil by MFT, I love this stencil! Instead of a typical blue I decided to go with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed to match my Copic accent colors.
For the "white" clouds I used the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud borders. I put my elements together and added my favorite Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. I finished off by adding a little grey Copic markers under my bottom elements to ground them.
For those of you interested in any of these pr…

With Many Thanks

Happy Saturday, Crafty Friends!

I can't believe we are almost done with August. Seriously, I blinked and the month was G-O-N-E!

My husband heads back to teaching this next week, so I am always sad to see him leave his more relaxed schedule, but he loves what he does, so that definitely helps!

I follow several talented gals on Instagram who are planner designers. To be honest, getting my day planner was one of the highlights of the school year for me, but now that I am WAY on the other side of my school days, I don't really find use for a planner, especially since I use my phone calendar all the time. But I still like all things papercraft, so I love following these folks on Instagram just to look at their beautiful patterns! Today's card is inspired by Violet and you can find her instagram account here.

This card incorporated a few different techniques with some of my favorite stamp sets. This Wplus 9 Freehand Florals set is still one of my favorites, and I'm always am…

Sephia Birthday Wishes

Hi, friends! Crystal here today with a stenciled card featuring Winnie & Walter products and Altenew.

For this week's blog post I wanted to create an elegant birthday card without my "go-to" black and white. As mentioned earlier this beauty is a combo of two wonderful companies. Winnie & Walter "birthday" die cut, and "happy" stamped sentiment. From Altenew I have the Floral Fantasy stamped in Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Green Fields. Also from Altenew is the Layered Kaleidoscope Stencil B blended with Altenew Crisp Dye in Mocha.
To make this, I began with a beige card base. Next, I stenciled it with Altenew Layered Kaleidsocope B. I proceeded to spray this with gold watercolor from Gansai Tambi. Once that was dried, I stamped the "happy" from Winnie & Walter's Happy Birthday to You in gold embossing powder. The "birthday" is die cut from Winnie & Walter In A Word: Birthday Cutaway. This was layered over the Alte…

Dress the Owl!!

Hello BRI friends Waleska here, today I want to share a set of cards I created with the fun Sunny Studio Happy Owl-o-ween Stamp Set, this Owl can be dressed in different ways to create different cards it is a very versatile stamp set, I like a lot.

For my first card I dressed the cute Owl as a pirate with all the different elements on the set.   All the cards have a base of  3x5.5 inches, I combined different stamp sets to create the little scenes and lots of distress ink colors. Back to my pirate card I used distress inks Squeezed Lemonade and Carved Pumpkin for the sky and for the water I used Salty Ocean.  The palm tree and island are from Island Getaway Sunny Studio too.

My second card is a Spooky scene, I dressed the cute owl as a witch on a brum.  For the background I used the same colors from the prior card but to give the background a night feel I sponge the edges with Black Soot Distress ink.  I added some bats and the brum from the Halloween Cuties Stamp and the fence is fr…

Reverse Confetti THANKS!

Happy Wednesday friends - hope you are having a great week!

Have you seen these Square Confetti Cuts (links below) from Reverse Confetti? So cool; they make a perfectly square 4.25" card OR you can layer it on to a larger size card...or make a tag...the possibilities are endless. I wanted to keep mine very CAS yet colorful.

I had created a couple watercolor panels last weekend (you know, smoosh some distress colors down, add some water and dip your paper in) and put them aside to dry; I thought it would be a perfect backdrop to a clean white card. I cut 3 layers of the THANKS Square Confetti Cut, sponged on some yellow on the bottom of the 'thanks', added glossy accents then layered them together. I stamped and embossed some WPlus9 Modern Peony images to add some interest, adhered the stacked panel to the watercolor panel and then to a top folding 4.25" square note card - quick and simple!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week!

Hugs!
