New Design Team Introductions!!!

Hello, everyone! Happy {almost} Fall. I know that not everyone is ready for it, but fall is my absolute FAVORITE and I for one am READY!!! I've redecorated my mantle and got my nails done in some fall-ish colors this afternoon. I'm loving BRONZE this season. Sorry in advance for the photo if anyone hates feet and/or toes! HAHA The leaves have started to change, the temps have dropped and the pool has been drained for the season. Pumpkin Spice season is here, I'm back into my leggings and I'm all about that life... I'm so basic!!! hahaha

So let's get these new Design Team members introduced, shall we?!

First up, we have a FELLA joining us this term and I'm so excited about that. He's been the ONLY guy to have applied for the team and his third time was a charm. I couldn't resist this butterfly beauty. He's currently on the StampAnniething DT, has previously been a part of Crafter's Companion, Craftin' Desert Divas and CanYouCaseIt? and has also guested for Newton's Nook and The Greeting Farm. You go boyyyy! bwhahahahahaha  Please welcome Kevin Bray!!!

Jenny Colacicco WOWED me with this amazing card that looks so much like stained glass, it's amazing! I love these style stamps and would love to see this technique done with the new Neat & Tangled release. (Psssst... that will be here a little late and is expected NEXT Friday, 9/15.) Jenny is on three challenge teams: AAAcards.blogspot.com (Clean and Simple), TimeOutChallenges.blogspot.com and HappyLittleStampers (watercolor challenge). If you want to participate in any of them, I'm sure they'd love that.

Andrea Shell is next to join us. In her application, she said she loved making scenes (on cards not in public) and that made me laugh out loud. For those that know me, I LOVE a sense of humor and that won me over along with her amazing coloring and YES, scene cards as well. How cute is this?! I jumped for joy when my kids went back to school and I can hardly believe they've already been back for 2 weeks already. Two 4 day weeks, but 2 nonetheless. Andrea is on the Inky Paws challenge team sponsored by Newton's Nook, was a member of Craftin' Desert Divas, has guest designed for Your Next Stamp and will be guesting for The Greeting Farm in November. P.S. That release will also be available in the shop next Friday, the 15th and it is an ADORABLE one!

Holy smokes! Jacquie's talent is undeniable. Her coloring of florals is always so pretty, but check out this mermaid shaker card that really got my attention. I loved this last release from Honey Bee Stamps, all the mermaids are gorgeous!!! I'd love to see some holiday ones. Hint, hint! LOL Jacquie has been on many Design Teams in the past and also taught at some local stores before. Too bad you don't live around here so you could help me out if I decide to go that route someday. ;)

Last but certainly not least, we have Christine Riley joining us. I honestly had so much trouble deciding which one of her cards to share in this post. From florals, to scenes, she is fabulous!!! This card though? Out of this world!!! I mean, look at that background. Christine is a former prosecuting attorney and is now a stay-at-home mom and crafter who's also on the Little Darlings and Kennedy-Grace DT's. I'm so excited to see what she and the rest of our new members will create this term.

I hate to sound repetitive each intro period, BUT I can't say thank you enough to everyone who applies to be on my team. Your time, talent and enthusiasm are deeply appreciated. I also appreciate all of my loyal customers so, SO much. This past weekend, I had a Labor Day sale with efforts to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief. With your help, I was able to raise and donated $520. THANK YOU for that! I know that Florida and other states are preparing for Hurricane Irma and I have everyone in the path of the storm in my thoughts. I'm hoping for little destruction and sending positive thoughts for safety to all.

Thank you, friends, for being so amazing. And an extra special thank you to all my past DT members and right-hand woman, Amanda, who keep me going. They're an amazing bunch of women who are thoughtful, supportive, kind, generous, helpful, talented and so much more. I love them deeply. <3

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each!

I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer.  I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks.  I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies for the girl and Magical Dragons for the boy.  I colored m…

Painting backwards....

Hello, hello!  Norine here from The Velvet Lemon blog.  It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink!
Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards.
What do I mean, you wonder?  Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color.
For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks.  You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color.

I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Inks for this project, but any water based inks will work the same.  It&#…

Open DT Call for Spring/early Summer Term!

Happy Spring, everyone! The weather here is... confused. LOL Thursday we had 50 degrees, Saturday we had 10 inches of snow and today it was 50 again. We just celebrated my son's 21st birthday on Thursday as many of you know from taking advantage of the celebration sale! Thanks for that. I spent all day packing and shipping orders during the day and then went out for dinner (and his first legal beer) when he got out of work that night. I honestly can't believe he's TWENTY-ONE, such a milestone and it's weird having a man child. HA! Yesterday, we spent the snow day in pjs and doing nothing which was a welcomed change. Today, my husband took our younger son skiing and my daughter and I had a girls' day which was nice. We went out to breakfast, did a little shopping and saw Beauty & the Beast. That's the lowdown over my way. I hope you've all been enjoying the weather, your families, crafting, work or whatever makes you HAPPY! :)
With the change of seasons a…
