Hey friends!
It's Jess! I'm so excited to be back with you again this week to share a pretty little card using products from Altenew.
To start my card off, I taped a piece of cardstock down to a wood board with washi tape. I knew I was going to be adding some water to my project and taping it down helps minimize warping. I stamped out the largest outline image from Garden Treasure a few times on my cardstock. I used Raven Detail Ink for this.
Once I had all of my flowers stamped in the position I wanted, I grabbed my Aqua Pigments from Brutus Monroe. These liquid water colors are so great and they're super easy to use. I used Violet, Yellow, and Coral for my card today. I added a drop or two of each pigment to my media mat and used a water brush to paint the color on to my cardstock. I wanted a loose watercolor look, so I purposefully went outside the lines of each flower. I liked how this gave it a little more of a whimsical look.
After I watercolored each of my flowers, I grabbed a few Copic markers. I added shading detail to each flower for a little extra dimension and interest. I also used the 'Snowing' stamp from Altenew to add 'splatters' to the card without worrying about getting any ink where I didn't want it.
I used a piece of washi tape as an accent strip and the end at an angle. I heat embossed the sentiment from Beautiful Day, 'sending hugs & happy thoughts,' on black cardstock and mounted the strip on foam for some dimension. To finish the card off, I added a few pretty sequins in different sizes.
I hope this card inspires you to create something pretty today. You could even change this one up and use poinsettias instead - then you'd have a pretty Christmas card!
Hugs and love to you all,
