It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink! Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards. What do I mean, you wonder? Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color. For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks. You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color. As a woman who has been exactly where you have been- full of anger and outrage- I’ll just say you are not alone. Every single emotion you’re feeling is absolutely justified.
ReplyDeleteNever let that fire inside you die out- but don’t let it burn you either. Instead, focus your energies on converting that fire into passion and diligence.
My mother always tells me that the only way to influence change is to be in a position where your voice and your opinions are taken seriously. That should be our collective goal- to work our asses off so we ascend the ladder, smash the glass ceiling and then reach behind us to help other women do the same.
I feel you. I’ve been you. And I’m sorry you feel the same way I did, because I sure hoped that things would get better with each passing year.
